Tropical Girl (2015)

Tropical Girl is the earliest work in this exhibition, completed when Yimiao was twenty-two years old. It depicts a growing-up scene of a dark-skinned girl living in tropics. The scene is mostly made up of vivid colours and clear brushstrokes, and there is a lot of details, offering an engrossing visual feast of tropical forest. Yimiao has always thought that dark-skinned girl has a unique charm, and this work is a perfect example of her unique aesthetic style.
