ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Between 1 August and 8 August 2020, Elysium Online Gallery presents "Yimiao – The Girls", the imaginary exhibition of works by Yimiao Liu. Curated and conceived by Xinyi Li, an MA Digital Media Student at Swansea University, the exhibition includes six illustrations, predominantly realised between 2015 and 2020, which tells the story of the creative formation and evolution of the young and talented illustrator.
MEET THE ARTIST
YIMIAO LIU
Yimiao Liu 刘一妙 is an illustrator and visual artist. She was born in 1993 in Hunan, China, and currently lives with her cat in sunny Los Angeles. Yimiao's work explores the relationship between women and the world by reflecting on the pervasive culture of female oppression and the ways women are rising above. She draws inspirations from imagination, dreams, emotions of the past, sex, movies and mythology. Her work has been recognized by Society of Illustrators New York.
